Green peas have a couple of characteristics that could help in preventing some of chronic diseases.
Heart Health: Green peas has a lot of minerals which are healthy for the heart, like magnesium, potassium and calcium.
Cancer Prevention: Eating green peas may even help to reduce the risk of cancer, because of his antioxidant content and the ability to reduce inflammation.
Diabetes: Green peas also helps with blood sugar control, which plays an important role in preventing and controlling diabetes.

Thanks to their ingredients, peas are a healthy supplement for a dog. However, this is only conditionally. You will probably hear or read again and again, raw peas are poisonous to dogs. If you would like to feed your four-legged friends peas, you should simply cook these. Make sure that your dog does not eat too many peas. The contained tannin can negatively affect the digestive tract of your animal. Tannin causes constipation and can cause very unpleasant and painful bloating.
If your dog likes to eat peas and you want to give them the vegetables from time to time, you should pay attention to freshness. In the months of June to August, peas have a season and are then available on the markets. Frozen goods are also very suitable. Those peas are frozen immediately after harvest. All important nutrients are preserved. Before use, they only need to be blanched for a short time.
Feed peas as fresh as possible or as frozen vegetables. You should avoid dried peas or canned peas. Not every type of vegetable that is healthy for us is also compatible with the dog. These include, for example, the legumes.
